General organisation

 

 

From 15 to 27 July, 2013 the CLT language centre organises intensive courses (50 hours)  for FRENCH-ENGLISH-SPANISH-GERMAN in groups of a maximum of 16 students.

Everyone who is at least 18 years old and has finished secondary school can register

 

 

We offer 3 to 4 levels for each language: from absolute beginner to independent user. These levels correspond with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

 

Absolute beginners always start in Breakthrough level.

Description of the different levels 

Breakthrough- A1- Basic user

Students can communicate in the target language at survival level i.e. they can meet their most urgent communicative needs in the most common, everyday situations in very basic language. In spoken interaction they can understand essential information and basic instructions and request and provide essential personal data and information needed in everyday life.

They can understand the gist of simple, everyday notices and messages both in spoken and in written form and they can supply minimal personal information in writing.

Waystage - A2 - Elementary user

Students can communicate in the target language at elementary level i.e. they can meet basic communicative needs in common, everyday situations in simple language.

In spoken interaction they can understand simple, factual information and instructions. They can also request and provide simple, personal data and information that is necessary in daily life. They can understand the gist of simple, everyday notices and messages both in spoken and in written form and they can supply simple, personal information in writing.
 

Threshold - B1 - Semi-independent user

Students can communicate as semi-independent users of the target language i.e. they can cope in common, communicative situations dealing not only with personal and concrete matters but also with more general and abstract ones.

In spoken interaction they can perform common transactions and request and supply practical information. They can also establish and maintain common, social and professional contacts. They can understand the gist and relevant details of common texts of a general kind both in spoken and in written form. They can write simple texts of a general kind.
 

Vantage - B2 - Independent user

Students can communicate as fully independent users of the target language. In spoken interaction they can adequately perform a wide range of functions, also in situations they are unfamiliar with. They can thoroughly understand a wide range of spoken and written texts of a general kind. They can express themselves accurately in writing, also in common, businesslike texts such as summaries and reports.
