From September onwards we offer fast track Blended Learning courses
for French and Spanish Breakthrough and Waystage.
Blended learning refers to the courses that combine face-to-face
instruction with online learning and reduced classroom contact hours.
- The number of participants is limited to 18 per group.
- The blended course curriculum is identical to the regular one.
- Only the contact hours count for Educational Leave (Betaald Educatief
Verlof). You have to justify every absence.
- Students who successfully complete the blended course obtain a
certificate: Breakthrough (A1) on completion of the first module,
Waystage (A2) on completion of the second module.
Formula
- The blended learning courses are a pilot project. They are not
intended to replace the regular program; they run parallel to it.
- The face-to-face instruction sessions are focused on learning content
and on speaking. At home you have access to an e-learning platform which
will guide you step by step to practise what has been taught and to
assess your own progress. You can always get help from your teacher who
will assist you via email or via the forum.
- The RG1 blended course consists of 2 modules. Each module includes 14
lesson weeks plus one examination week. The 14 lesson weeks include 7
contact sessions of 4 hours each plus 7 sessions of online homework
which also take up 4 hours per week on average.
Advantages
- You can work whenever it suits you and at your own pace. You have
access wherever you are, also from abroad. You can do the exercises as
many times as you like.
- You receive individual coaching.
- You can monitor your own progress by means of regular tests.
Conditions of entry
- Elementary computer skills: you can type and surf the web.
- Access to a computer with a fast internet connection (necessary to
work with the audio and video material).
- Self-discipline
You commit yourself to attending every single face-to-face instruction
session. You can only learn to speak and practise speaking in classroom.
The blended learning formula requires a strict diary. The online work is
as important as the face-to-face instruction. You need to have completed
the online tasks within a fixed period. The face-to-face instruction can
only proceed if deadlines for online work have been met.
