Is the CLT certificate in Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) an official certificate?

Our Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) courses are officially by the Flemish government.

Those who pass receive an official certificate indicating the language level achieved (A2, B1, B2, C1), in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

What is this certificate valid for?

  • Enrolment in many vocational training programmes (e.g. healthcare, logistics, childcare, administration)
  • Use in VDAB career pathways and by many employers
  • Proof of language proficiency for civic integration in Flanders

Please note:
An additional language test such as the ITNA or CNaVT may be required for:

  • Admission to certain colleges or universities
  • Access to certain professions

This depends on the specific training programme or employer.

We therefore recommend checking carefully with the institution or organisation where you wish to apply or study.

The NT2 courses offered by CLT, as well as the open module for the CNaVT exam, both provide excellent preparation for the ITNA and CNaVT exams.
