Luc Dewachter won 3rd place (C1) in this year’s haiku competition for students and learners of French with this haiku:
Fier et décidé
Balayant son horizon
Pour garder la paix
Béatrice Bruffaerts (A1) and Johan De Smet (B2) reached the finals with these haikus:
Bonjour les enfants
Chantez, jouez et vivez
La paix est pour vous
(Béatrice Bruffaerts)
Après la tempête
Le pêcheur lance ses filets
Et pardonne au vent
(Johan De Smet)
The competition is open to schools from Dutch-speaking and German-speaking secondary and adult education. More than 70 schools participate, submitting over 3,000 haikus in total.
Thanks to Isabelle Forges and Marie-France Venet, the teachers of the winner and finalists, and to all colleagues who guided their students in the haiku writing process.
